Finance operations validation

Prove the finance workflow worth transforming.

FlowForge is an evidence-led validation and outcome-based pilot partner for finance and operations teams. We turn a costly workflow hypothesis into a disciplined decision before anyone commits to a platform build.

A 30-minute fit call, then a clear recommendation within one business day.

We look for high-volume work where fragmented evidence, human judgment, and exception handling create measurable drag.

The mandate

Evidence over enthusiasm.

01

Expose operational cost

Map time, rework, controls, dependencies, and error consequences in the workflow as it runs today.

02

Define a fundable outcome

Translate the problem into a narrow pilot outcome a finance leader can sponsor, measure, and govern.

03

Earn the next decision

End with a go, revise, or stop gate — not a platform-sized commitment disguised as a pilot.

Scope, timeline, decision gate

A decision-ready case in weeks, not quarters.

The Validation Sprint is deliberately bounded: one workflow, a defined stakeholder set, and a measurable outcome. The work informs a decision; it does not become an open-ended transformation program.

Week 1 / Baseline the work

Find the point where finance work slows down.

We interview the economic buyer, technical reviewer, and operational users to map the actual path of a close, AP, order-to-cash, evidence, or planning workflow.

Working output

A workflow baseline, buyer map, risk register, and a view of where human effort and exceptions accumulate.

Week 2 / Validate the value

Test cost, urgency, and ownership.

The 20-question discovery guide surfaces current cost, time, errors, bottlenecks, systems, human involvement, business impact, budget, and urgency.

Decision gate / Sponsor review

Go, revise, or stop with evidence.

We recommend an outcome-based pilot only when the sponsor, measurable value, data path, and governance boundaries are credible enough to proceed.

Illustrative worked example

A narrow AP exception pilot — before software selection.

This is an illustrative scenario, not a customer result or performance claim. It shows the kind of decision a FlowForge sprint is designed to make.

Starting signal

Invoice exceptions require manual evidence gathering across an ERP, email, and shared folders; the controller cannot quantify rework or audit exposure.

Validation work

Baseline exception categories, touch time, approval handoffs, evidence availability, and who owns the budget for improvement.

Pilot outcome

A controlled workflow for one exception type, with a human approval point, evidence trail, and agreed measures for cycle time and rework.

Decision gate

Proceed only if a sponsor accepts the measurement plan, data-access boundary, and a practical path to scale or stop.

Security and data handling

Useful evidence, proportionate access.

Do you need production-system access?

Not by default. The sprint begins with interviews, process artifacts, and agreed examples. Any system or data access is scoped with the sponsor and technical reviewer before it is requested.

How is sensitive finance data handled?

We use the minimum information needed to assess the workflow. Customer data, retention expectations, and approved sharing paths are agreed before a pilot begins.

Will AI replace finance controls?

No. A pilot is designed around the right human approval points, evidence trails, and control requirements. Automation is proposed only where governance can support it.

What happens after the sprint?

The decision memo recommends a focused pilot, a revised hypothesis, or a stop. There is no obligation to proceed into a broader implementation.
